What It Do DC?

I’m writing this just before I go out to play a weekly .05/.10 NL cash game with some friends. Should be fun. I usually donk around pretty hard in this game as the buyin is one BB to me online.

I just got back today from a squash tournament in Vancouver. I played OK and made the semifinals of the Men’s A draw. I had a bye in the first round and two VERY easy matches to get to the semis. The semi’s was against a strong player, and i just didnt get anything going and i lost 11-9, 11-8, 10-12, 11-6. This was a really great weekend overall. I saw a bunch of squash friends that I don’t see very often. It was also a PSA event (pro event) so there were some of the top players in the world in town. The level of play in the pro’s is outstanding. The shots they hit and retrieve is sometimes shocking. Also, they are mostly foreign and when they argue with the referee we always laugh at some of the colloquialisms that they use and their accents when they plead their case.

We chatted with a few of them at the banquet last night and they were all VERY nice guys, and I enjoyed their company.

I’m currently on a quest to find some new poker sites for more action. I’ve been petitioning the IPN for good deals to have me play on one of their skins. I’ve had a couple offers that I’m going to look at more closely and see what transpires. I also signed up on Absolute Poker. I haven’t played a hand there yet, although i’ve sat at 5/10 for a bit there waiting for action, but always found it sooner on another site. I’m happy that I’ll be on 3-4 sites pretty quickly, although it will stretch my roll out a bit, it will give me a chance to have more consistent action which should increase my bottom line and my hourly (as i calculate it based on the hours im sitting at the computer).

Poker overall has been going stagnantly at best for the year to date. I’m expecting a big day or a series of reasonable days are in my future. I think I play well enough that being a winning player before rakeback and bonuses is not too much to ask! =)
