In which our hero wins a 940bb pot
What it do DC?
I'm writing this while waiting for huplo action. the action comes pretty fast and furious, so I might be a little while in completing the post, so forgive me if the thoughts end up disjointed.
Poker is going ok. I've taken a bit of a hit so far in March, dipping as low as -1500 (playing the 50 and 100 games). Yesterday was a better day, in which i got to 2 table a massive aggro-tard who was 3betting about 70% and cbetting flop/turn in the 90's. it was fun, there was a lot of call/call'/call lines =)
So basically with this hand i flopped top pair and was going to be getting stubborn with it unless the board got gross. obviously the T on the turn was gin for me, and on the river, given i block JJ and AA (and he would have repotted JJ everytime) he has 1 combo of AAxx and like 4x as many of A4xx, making my river play, imo, pretty +ev.

I got my free pass to cardrunners fromt he TFPT deal they have, so I have been trying to check out some of their huplo stuff. Its OK, but much of it is very old. The series missing from DC, imo, is a HUPLO series. Last year I made a video for the Invent A Series contest, but was not picked to create a series. I'm hoping that DC will finally see that this gap in their library needs to be filled.
the biggest concept that I am learning in huplo right now is figuring out when to fold marginal draws, espeically in 3bet pots where you need less of a hand to stack off. The equity difference in having a pair+gut+fd vs just two of those three is substantial, and depending on how the two are sorted (like middlepair+gut probably isnt enough to stack off in most cases) can be enough to slow down.
I've also been minraising as opposed to 3xing from the btn. Someone in a plo skype group said that they do it and gave some good reasons for it (namely that vs 3bets and c/r we have better odds to continue. When villains 3bet and the spr is 4.5 (as in a 3x - 9x situation) as opposed to 7.9 in a 2x-6x situation, which obviously creates a lot more room to maneuver, but also gives you a chance to raise flop and still get it in on the turn (assuming 100bb stacks).
Ok , thanks for reading
