What It Do DC?

Many of you who read this may be aware that I am going to Vegas for my stag in 2 weeks (lets meet up, ldo).  Last night my soon to be father-in-law threw me a surprise in town stag where we played a 16 person 2 table sit and go.  It was a lot of fun, and obviously I won =)  It was really great as some of my friends who I havent seen in a few months were able to make it, and my best man (who lost his eye in an accident two weeks ago) came out and spent the whole evening with us.  He's been really tired and headachey since the accident and hasnt really been able to do anything for more than a couple hours, so it was great to see him out all evening.  Some of my uncles came and my 80 yr old grandpa played in the tournament as well.  He'd never played holdem, but he is an excellent bridge player and has a really great memory and card sense.  He ended up punting his stack to me in the 3rd hand after we consolidated tables.  Im really greatful to have such a great group of friends and family who would come out for this, especially since many of them couldn't come to the stag in Vegas.

I was sort of disappointed that I won and not knocked out in the first 30 minutes because i had to sort of pay attention to poker and not visit with everyone as much as I wanted.  I was trying to put my stack in the middle.  I play really aggro in sit and gos with friends,.  I was heads up at the end with the biggest nit of our group of friends and I was literally open shoving every hand.  It took us 40+ hands to end the heads up match.  We were 30bb deep effective.

I watched the England USA game today and really enjoyed it.  I thought it was really exciting, although I was disappointed it ended in a tie.  I'm getting up at 4am on Monday to watch the Denmark Netherlands game.  I'm really excited about that one.

Poker is going really well, although the last 2 days has seen a cool off and a bit of a correction to my completely unsustainable heater from the first week of the month.

My 15/30 shots are going well still and I feel like I can call myself a reg at this level for the time being.  Barring a semi-significant downswing at that level, I see myself staying there. 

Otherwise, I'm just going to keep plugging along in poker and try to make some cash so that I can have an awesome Europe trip in September.  Melissa and I booked our flights this week and we leave from Vancouver and fly into Amsterdam on September 15th.  We are very excited.
