Life is good in the World of Liquid Quik these days. 

I had my best poker month ever this month.  I still have tomorrow to play, but I'm either not going to play or take the day to play some small stakes PLO or mixed games or tournaments or something where I can only risk a couple hundo.

I may have blogged previously that I am semi-dieting in prep for my wedding.  My diet consists of not eating junk food (no chips, chocolate, sugary drinks, etc) but continue to eat regular meals and the occasional very low calorie treat.  This has been somewhat successful, and I lost about 10lbs.  I've been stalled for a couple weeks, and this week was my birthday, so I went a little off the deep end.  I took my actual birthday (friday) as a junk day, the next day because we went out, and then today because it was a new week and we went to my parents for brunch, and there was cake involved.

It was a wonderful time all around.  I didn't really get any amazing presents all things considered.  I got Chuck Palahniuk's new novel Tell-All.  I'm excited about it, as I always am with a new novel of his.  I've been hoping he will continue with the world he created in Rant, as was rumoured, but this one certainly isnt, so I'm not sure whats up with it.  I also got a sweet t-shirt from my sister (or the promise of one, since it hasnt come in the mail yet)  This is not me in the picture though... but its from a Chuck Palahniuk novel.

 

The rest of my presents were in cash form.  Mostly because of my upcoming vegas trip.  Melissa's gift of money is for 'something cool in vegas but nothing gambling related' so i'm sure i'll use it for a cirque ticket.

On the poker front, i mentioned that I am having my best month ever.  This coincides with my taking my first 15/30 shots.

One went poorly... I lost like 20-25BB against a fishy played on AP.  He just made more hands than me and Its something that I wouldn't have thought twice about if it was at 5/10.

The second one went really well against a player who I had played before and gotten beaten by at a lower stake... but he was a Very large loser according to PTR.
