What It Do DC?

Poker continues to go well for me this month. I haven’t had a ton of motivation to play, and have likely put in less than 500 hands since my last post.

I played some tonight… a short session against a player who seemed decent at 10/20, so i quit him after taking 9 bets. he was upset… understandably so. he used some choice words, and I told him i thought he played alright so i didnt want to play where i didnt have an edge. he asked if i was scared to play him. obviously i said that i was. he left with more explicit language, haha.

My fiancee is going out of town to visit friends/family in Calgary this weekend. That leaves me home alone with very little responsibility. I envision putting in a bunch of hours on the computer. hopefully it is playing poker and not spending my whole day playing Starcraft 2. I’m so addicted right now. I just wish i didnt suck.

I’m also hoping to see a few friends and perhaps get a homegame of some sort going. I used to love playing homegames until about a year ago when I got pretty serious about limit holdem and specifically HUHU. Now the money isnt significant at all to me, so its still fun to play, but more for the social aspect than anything else. It’s hard to get wired up for a $20 sng when first place is a medium sized pot for me online. I don’t want to braggy… but its just my feeling about the situation now.

Wedding planning is still full steam ahead. We got a bunch of stuff done over the weekend and I have a few phonecalls to make tomorrow to complete my march assignments. We’ve given up trying to pot control the guest list and are just letting everyone come now. Which is fine. I’m not really worried about it. My poker mind works like this: our wedding costs X to run regardless of how many people we invite. We have a variable cost Y that we can affect, and our total cost is X + ZY where Z is the number of guests we invite. I believe, however, that when ZY goes up, so does P (presents), which tend to mostly be monetary, as we are going traveling after the wedding and have tried to put out the vibe that we want money to go traveling with. So, our actual cost is X + ZY – ZP, and I believe that that these two numbers will closely correlate. Prove me right guests!

Mt Robusto is starting to get underway… hopefully we can get some action happening with that soon. im still a little unclear of exaclty what we are doing, but I know my squad, and it looks like we have a good group of community members with Fnupple as our leader. we cant really go wrong.

Finally, my next little pet project for DC is to help create a FAQ for the Beginner Forum. I hope that it pans out well and we can get some good information for our new members.
