4 tables of 6 max, so in the neighborhood of 300-350 hands per hour.

The graph is a little misleading in terms of time line. It's been two months since I said I'd starting playing seriously again and the graph shows two months of data.

The day it starts though I was in South Korea on business and I learned being in South Korea on business means you aren't sober enough to log into your poker account very often. The next week was China and the internet is frustratingly slow so I didn't play much.

So my volume has improved over the last two months, but still needs work (full time job, wife, three boys etc etc)

Comment on Lock 1 Month - Doubled Up by Langerz

Don't worry I'm not at all worried about the red line. It's probably optimal to have that red line at this limit.

I've also posted every hand I've played vs. aggro players in this blog, there were none of them. Ok I'm exaggerating but the player pool at 4 nl is really bad. I rarely c/b rivers with any kind of hand.

I'm fine with the SW and after playing there a month actually like it. The time bank feature could be better and I hated the all in button until I figured out how to hide it. (open shoved something like 93o once before I found it - BB tanked for ever - I was screaming for a fold lol). I think I use normal view - whatever the one that shows the ICON.

I wasn't patient enough to search out good bonuses so didn't get the iPAD2 bonus. I got the 200% sign up though which clears ridiculously slow at 4NL. 3.3% cleared after 12k hands. At least there isn't a expiration.

See you at 10nl next month. :)

Langerz,

Happy to see you are playing on Lock too! I am currently playing 10nl. I actually think the software is growing on me. Do you like the normal or mini view better? Also did you sign up with the iPAD2 bonus?

don't worry about the red line until you're at 100NL, further the graph looks ok.

what might be really interesting spots to give some extra thought about is when you play vs aggro players whether you should raise, induce or check to see if you can find some extra spots where you can make money from them... Also interesting spots at the micros is spots where you check back on the river... evaluate those spots if you can valuebet small, create a range of hands that might call here (2nd pair type hands, hands with weak kickers etc) and see how often you're beat (less then 50%, valuebet!). I often see players valuebet pretty good on flop and turn and then slow down on the river where most value can be made..

If anything, this Black Friday stuff has helped me to stop dicking around with poker. Meaning, we should be learning and adapting quickly.

Hit it hard imo. Grind up fast and furious. Play your best game. Especially if we're to hit and quit these sites.

+1 on the play money poker. I recently played it to see what it was like and it just is no challenge. A reasonable profitable strategy shows up in no time and that at 20000NL (no... not a typo) :D. Pretty gangsta :-/
2 years back i built my fake roll over like 6 months... Once i was comfortably crushing the 'highest' stakes (like a gangsta :-/ ), I deposited and played 2NL and got a bit schooled. I sucked hard, obviously, but still... 2NL was already better than 20000NL play money... it's that bad.

I have no idea, but at least I can play. Honestly making money has also just been a nice benefit to poker for me. I make a good living working and just play poker for fun/the challenge.

@soleztis if other people don't want to hear it, they can always not read it ;)

I like reading other people's poker blogs. It's nice to confirm your run-bad frustrations are shared by others when reading about another member's downswing (not that I'm glad about it lol), but also be inspired to work harder reading about someone's sick month @ 100NL. Plus the ones with a good strat:rambling ratio are yet another useful resource here.

I blog whenever I'm playing poker regularly so that maybe one day in a few years when/if I'm playing higher I can look back at it and think 'so that's how I got here!' :)

I wouldn't say therapeutic. Holding myself accountable is a better way to say it. If I type on here that I'm going to post a video each week then damn it I'm going to do it.

I missed a couple things too.

I'm not going to play distracted. If I start surfing the net or whatever I'm sitting out.

I'm also going to post hands. My goal at least in the beginning is to post one hand per session.

I'm pretty much in your boat. I have $40 on AP that I never really played with. I'm thinking about just trying to grind it up, and if I never see the money, then I'm in the same spot I'm in now.

I have always wanted to start blogging about my poker life, but I don't feel that it is that interesting, or that people want to hear about it. I feel like I say what I need to on the forums. Do you find it therapeutic in a way?

My BR requirement is crazy frisky and I wouldn't recommend it in most cases. The reason it works here is I'm fully rolled for 25 NL at Stars so if I go bust at FTP I just go back to Stars and its no big deal. I didn't really want to transfer money to FTP, but at the same time I didn't want to spend months playing 5 NL. So I went with either build the roll quickly or just go back to Stars.

I know some people think 20 BBs for a roll is a little frisky too, but poker is far from a living for me and I have no problem moving down if I hit a bad streak. I acttually think lots of micro players are over rolled. If you are commonly going on 10+ BI downswings you probably have some big leaks and would be better off moving down and fixing them. When you play higher the edges are smaller, variance is higher and you need a bigger roll.

I'm excited about the uBaller group. With work and 3 little kids my time can be scarce but I'm going to try to be active. See ya there.

Second that! Nice blog. Your BR requirement seem a little frisky though.. :-P But otoh, if you've already been playing at the higher stakes then you probably can take shots with a smaller roll.
I've recently joined the uBallers group and would love to comment on one of your live sessions. I'm at 10NL right now, but have been taking shots at 25NL.
