Cross my heart that I love her...

….place no one up above her

Poker. 2009. My life :). DC. All that.

Might as well wrap up 2009 and dust off the blog. Only a few sessions left and I’m feeling reflective while sipping a Pirat:

I started off the year just moving up from 50 NL and playing my first few hands of 100 NL, I thought I was a good player but I was too nitty and too tight post flop. I had some huge leaks that become apparent during my early break even stretch March-April. Went to Vegas, played in a WSOP event had fun, came back and worked on my game. I can confidently say I’m a much better player in December than I was in January. I owe at least some of that success to Deuces Cracked.

My graph may not be impressive to some, but for good or bad this is the most money I’ve ever made at anything in a year period (slightly beating the full time job). I’m glad this blog is relatively anonymous because my family was never rich growing up. In fact I can say from the time I was 16-21 we were straight up poor. I live in Michigan and I can specifically remember 2 winters with no heat at all. I can’t even picture that now, but it was reality for a while. I don’t know how many people can understand what 30k at poker means to someone like that, but I’m sure there are a few. Enough of that depressing shit, graph and goals for 2010:

Goals, ahem “Targets” (Tommy Angelo nod) for 2010:

[ ] At least 100 hours of poker per month
[ ] 1,000,000 hands (this may be a stretch but aiming high couldn’t hurt)
[ ] 2/4-3/6 reg with $25,000 bankroll

[ ] Review every session
[ ] Play more 6 max, heads-up, PLO
[ ] Stay committed to learning (Books, DC, thinking about what VPIP the cashier would be in the grocery line, etc.)
[ ] Post more on 2+2, DC, etc. my poker social circle is basically non-existent, this is bad for more reasons than winrate

[ ] 1,000 lb. Squat/Bench/DL total at 180 lbs.
[ ] Become more social (may be mutually exlusive with 1 million hand goal :) but I’ll balance)
[ ] Become debt free
[ ] MCITP Server Cert
[ ] CCNA Cert

That’s it lol, I guess find out what I can’t do in twenty ten. Back to the post title I’ll close out the year with this:

Exhibit C
