Wedding festivities are picking up so will be light on updates until Sunday. But I'm making some progress on F-box, and have been doing close reading on The Queen of Spades in order to reconstruct the storyform (the structural and dynamic skeleton of a story--I will be building these for at least one other idea). Close reading helps tons in understanding what any story is about; stories boil down to cause and effect, so understanding the progression of actions and decisions is the best way to determine what the author is/was really trying to say.
But enough about this shit. I saw CABIN IN THE WOODS today and it rocked my world. I am a huge Joss Whedon fanboy. He is a god among storytellers and I highly recommend all of his TV shows (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse), and a 3-part web series he created called Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. He also wrote and directed a little movie about to release called THE AVENGERS, so if you haven't heard of him he's about to melt the minds of millions of people and make the Hulk actually cool again. Anyway, CABIN IN THE WOODS is a really smart horror movie and a great film in general, super enjoyable and should be seen in a crowded theater at night. DONT READ ANYTHING ABOUT IT, SPOILERS WILL RUIN IT FOR YOU!
The poster rules. Go see it.
