Here we go
First blog entry! It's Friday, March 11th, 2011 and it's the first day of spring break.
My name is James. I live in Colorado and I'm a student, studying entrepreneurship, minoring in micro-stakes 6-max cash games.
Been playing poker for years; Moneymaker boom, high school $5 home game SNGs. Started taking online poker seriously in Dec 2009 when I joined DC and got a staking/coaching deal to play 25nl from some mid-stakes grinders. Started off sucking (dropped to 10nl and worked really hard), and with coaching/DC I improved a lot. I took a few shots at 50nl (none of them went well) and actually ended up playing poorly/losing a bunch at the end of 2010/beginning of this year. Ended the deal in early February, took a few weeks off and I'm on my own now. I'm rolled for 25nl but due to playing poorly, decided drop to 10nl and do a lot of video watching/studying to reevaluate and relearn.
Graph since joining DC: 1.4bb/100 winner over 180k. Decent winner at 10nl and lower. Loser at 50nl and a .04bb/100 winner at 25nl over 125k hands, what up rakeback? Obv I don't play a lot of volume, 10k-15k hands on an average month. I can't effectively play more than 4 tables and I don't like rush poker. I get good grades, have a good social life and still mix in some poker, so I'm really happy with it. I really think I'm capable of plugging more leaks and grinding small stakes relatively soon.
