GL to Benba in the $10k PLO!!
What's up Guys?
I'm pretty excited right now because my friend Ben Lamb just made it through day 3 of the 10k PLO! He came into the FT with the chip lead and has basically soul-crushed the entire FT, and still holds the chip lead with only four players left. Beyond the fact that it'd be his first bracelet, scooping first place comes with a not-so-modest $814k as well. Even though Ben is already ballin' pretty hard, I'm sure he wouldn't mind filling his pockets even more, lol.
What's even sicker, is that he got 2nd in the $3k PLO just last week. The dude has been straight up crushing both online and live for several years, so I really hope he takes it down after getting so close last week. He definitely deserves it. If you want to check out updates on the event click here. What's even better is that he was one of the first players to endorse PLO QuickPro several months ago, which you can see by clicking here and scrolling to the bottom of the page.
Unfortunately I couldn't play the $10k PLO because I had a wedding to go to in Colorado this weekend for one of my best friends. I would've considered skipping it for the tournament.. But earlier in the year he asked me to be the officiant (AKA Priest) in his wedding, which is both an honor and somewhat comical scenario at the same time. At first I was worried that becoming a priest would be really time consuming, but it's actually much easier than you probably think. In fact, buying car insurance online is definitely more time consuming, and truthfully I'd be willing to bet that buying something off Ebay or Amazon takes just as long if not longer. **Funny side-note, it costs ~$30, and along with an ID verification card, they send you a parking pass so that you can park in the clergy spot at prisons and hospitals. You are also allowed by law to conduct funerals and baptisms as well. Who would've thought??***
Anyhow, here's a pic from the wedding of me and a few friends of the groom (I'm the one with the tie). It was the perfect environment for a wedding, especially since the weather in Colorado right now is absolutely perfect!
I'm hoping that I don't miss out on bracelet time, but unfortunately that's unlikely because I don't get back into Vegas until 11pm PST tomorrow night, and I'm assuming they'll crown a winner far before that since the stacks are pretty short (tourney resumes at 3pm PST). gogogogogo Benba!
GL Everyone,
John

Hahah, no parties yet! Get this... Dude wins the bracelet.. And you know... Most people would probably go party their ass off and celebrate... What does he do? Obviously signs up for the $10k six-max NL... He's third in chips after day 1, of course, lololol. $1.15M for 1st.
