PLO Pimpin'

What's up Degens? 

I wanted to make this a short update because I plan on writing up a longer trip report once the series is over and done with. So far I haven't cashed in any events (I've only played three), including the 1k NL, 1.5k PLO, and the 3k PLO, but tomorrow's tourney is the one I'm looking forward to the most. It's the 5k 6-max PLO, and I really can't explain how excited I am to NOT be playing a FR PLO tournament or cash game! I haven't had many opportunities to play shorthanded PLO since Black Friday, and the few times I've been fortunate to find myself in a 5-7 handed game, the table has quickly broke.. So more than anything, I'm looking forward to spending some time figuring out the players at my first table, and doing my best to gradually build my stack and move on to day 2. My goal is to take it one hand at a time and not try to push the action too much in the beginning. I've hurt myself in the past by losing half my stack in a pretty thin spot against players whom I don't have a strong read on yet.. And since the structure is good, I'm going to make sure I take my time and let the chips come into my corner naturally :)

In other news, a couple of good friends of mine are battling at the Final Table of the 3k PLO as we speak. Ben Lamb and Sam Stein have been swapping the role of chip leader for the last few hours, so it'll be interesting to see who takes it down. I was sweating it at the Rio earlier, but came home so I could get some sleep for the long day ahead tomorrow. They're both outstanding players, and have had a ton of success in live tourneys, so I honestly don't know whos' the favorite to win the bracelet. I know Ben booked a bunch of action for a no-drinking bet for the entire WSOP, but I have a feeling he'll be forced to buy out if he snags a bracelet, lol.
