PLO on Poker After Dark!
What's up Degens?
Not going to write too lengthy of an entry here, but I just wanted to send out a reminder to all of the PLO zealots out there that tonight (or I guess technically tomorrow morning), there will a $100k buy in PLO edition of Poker After Dark. The lineup is unsurprisingly pretty tough:
Tom Dwan
Brian Hastings
Patrik Antonius
Brandon Adams
Phil Galfond
Phil Ivey
I gotta admit.. It's been awhile since I've been THIS excited to watch TV poker.. Check out the link for the show here if you want more information. Hopefully everyone is playing and running well!
GL,
John

Right out of the gate: "Preflop in PLO there are a lot more drawing hands, and even a hand like pocket queens can be pretty vulnerable"- Andy Bloch.
*facepalm*

I guess they have to make it relatable to people who have never seen PLO on tv.

Haha, definitely have to dumb it down for the NL guys that don't play or watch very much PLO. Overall though I really enjoyed episode 1. It's amazing to see just how loose everyone is playing, and in the non-straddled pots everyone seems to be playing pretty passively. You can also tell that Hastings is more uncomfortable live than the other 5 players. What'd you think the most interesting hand was?

When Hastings cc flop vs Galfond with the bare wrap and bet flush turn (I guess if he is going to cc such a weak hand he'll have to bluff some turns) and then the board paired on the river. Hastings couldn't rep a boat since he wouldn't cc flop/lead turn with any sets or 2p type hands, so I guess with a river bet he would only rep the nut flush going for thin value which Galfond could easily exploit, or Galfond could have a medium flush or boat himself, so Hastings gave up.

I thought it was really interesting Galfond didn't even consider turning his hand into a bluff on the river.
