What's up Degens? 

Normally I'm not a huge fan of tournaments, but I really love the HU PLO FTOPS for a couple of reasons. First, it gives me a good excuse to hop in front of the computer and grind, and second because they're generally really soft. Unfortunately for me, I got some pretty terrible draws, and had to play some really good players this time, instead of the fishies that usually give 'em a try. 

The first round I played an unknown, but I thought he was really solid. Then the second round, I had to play gavz101 (he won the $5k SCOOP earlier this year, and is a 25/50 sicko), which actually went pretty smoothly, and then the third round I played sweetpants1 (HU reg, pretty big winner), and then the fourth round I played Bluff Deez Nuts, who I thought was pretty tough, but I ended up winning a flip to take it down. 

I was pretty amped to be in the final 32, but unfortunately I lost to the weakest player I faced the whole time, and had to settle for 21st ($1800). Anyways, I normally only post hands where stacks were exchanged or something hilarious happened, but this time I also posted some smaller pots where I took some unconventional lines, and used some unique bet sizes to take advantage of my opponents. I thought this hand was kind of cool. There's a longer explanation for it, but basically it comes down to his leading range being really wide on the turn, but his bet/calling range on the river being really narrow. Pretty easy spot actually. This is against sweetpants1

Think this is a spot where most people would just peel, but I think raising is infinitely better. I mean... We DO have equity, right? Doubt he has a straight here. Boy, did I fuck up this hand. At the time, I thought that I had more FE than I actually do. I just didn't see him having low cards in his 3b overcalling range out of the blinds PF, and I thought that he would be leading a lot of weaker draws here that I could dominate. Plus, I felt like I was going to make a mistake on the river, or if I got there I wouldn't get paid. Still had 43% tho, so if he ever does fold than I guess this is the best play. But overall this is a pretty easy call.
