I decided to give HU NLHE a shot last night. Felt like it was time to take a shot at some, and gave 100NL a chance. My opponent was average, and I felt like I had an edge the entire match. He folded to my bluffs (well, all but one), and called most of my value bets. I was also able to get him to bluff when I wanted him to. Sounds like I pwnt him, right? Nope, I lost 3BI. Reviewing my play, I think I did pretty well… not sure if this hand is standard or not though. It was early in the match, so no dynamics yet and he hasn’t raised IP yet.

And after that, he was starting to 3bet my BTN opens a lot, so I added in some 4bet bluffing. And he started to open nearly 100% of his BTNs, so I added some 3bets with my junk hands, of which he folded a lot. He 4bet me once, and I 5bet shoved.. he tanked.. chatted AA? KK? Then folded. I told him not even close. And then did another 4bet bluff where he folded. Then this hand came up:

Ahh.. got him to shove with only 6 outs. Once this hand was over, I didn’t feel so good. So played one hand, then decided it was time to insta-shut off my PC. (rivered the nuts on that hand, so of course I played it though). Played 388 hands, and felt like I had a good handle on how he played. Plus it was fun! Should really watch the pr1nnyraiding series and other HUNLHE content.
