New years for me is all about new beginings. Whatever happened in poker in 2009 stays in
2009. I had a pretty underwhelming year but learned a ton and I mean a ton more than I knew at this time last year.I want to get back in the gym get back in shape, I know everyone says that but I really abandoned working out once poker came into my life and that’s abandoning who I am when Im not in shape. I really want to run my poker like a business in the new year though. I got Dusty “Leatherass” Schmidt’s book 2 weeks ago and it’s really good. I know some people dog the guy I guess cause he is a little cocky and comes across ass kinda a douche well I dont know him personally but anytime on the forums I interacted w/ him he seemed cool so whatever. His book is awesome and I would reccomend it to anyone.
So my Jan Goals are
1. Get through the 30 day NL course on stox poker
2. Get through the 30 day limit course on stox poker.
3. Read and make notes on Harrington on Cash
4. have a BR to suppport playin 6.50 turbo sngs
5.Move up from 5NL 6-max to 10NL 6-max
6.Move from .25-.50 limit to .50-1.00 limit
7. Get back on stars and make it to Gold Level player
8.Re-read and make notes from moshmon book
9.Read and make notes from Harrington on Holdem.
10.If all is going well maybe read a book on Omaha 8
These are my targets if I complete them all that would be great but if not that’s all
good too. I have to push myself though in 2010 I want to be generating good income in 6 months.Somewhere in the range of more than my day job would be awesome. I don’t see
playin poker only for a living as my only goal, I see it as a stepping stone to the business world as in ownership.That’s just me I want to use this to improve myself and not become overtaken by it. Anyway I’ll probaly rejoin DC premium in March, I just feel like stox is the place for me now. As far as training sites go DC is my home and if I hire a coach it would be 1 of the DC guys.That being said I really wish DC had chat rooms like card runners does. That would be a nice feature I think. If anyone is from DC management is reading this, if u guys ever sell merchandise make ur hats New Era 59fifty hats w/ the DC logo on them, now that would be hot to wear at the casino and rep DC.

This is also my year to play some live poker. We have Charity casinos in this area but the rake is so high it’s not feasable to play unless u are playin 3-6 limit and Im not rolled like that yet. Id rather start out at AC than some local BS charity casino anyway.
