Maths of PLO Video Series
I am still working on my maths of PLO videos and hope to release the next two episodes soon. These two episodes deal with counting preflop starting hand combinations; I have written the slides but every time I start recording the audio I get new ideas for displaying the data. There are some pretty graphs in there now.
I have been making a lot of graphs and charts. Here is an overview of all the starting hands KK** you can get dealt (excluding AAKK); there are 6925 combinations in total :
The red and orange hands are generally bad or unplayable and the deep blue hands are premium holdings. Only a small fraction of these hands are super-premium with nut suited potential as well as the high pair. However, a majority of hands do have at least K-hi flush potential (anything light blue or darker). The lower non-nut (nn) suited hands have green and yellow colouring, and represent about a quarter of KKxx hands. Finally, the orange and red hands have serious playability issues; apart from a few high-card offsuit (os) combinations such as KKJT they will not play much better than a naked KK. I’m hoping to demonstrate the “flopability†of these different hands in a later episode.
