Genesis: From Micro to........

I have been doing pretty well at these stakes lately with my new strategy and I would like once again to reiterate FOld Equity DOESN’T EXIST at these stakes………..Had to get that out of the way. Well anyways I am going to be posting a new member video of my session tonight and would appreciate all critiques no matter what level. I am not worried about the outcome because I come here in all humility and look forward to any criticism of my play. Shuffle Up and Deal.

Poker is a simple game filled with complexity. Ive heard it described many different ways but this is what it boils down to. There are so many complex situations with thousands of explanations for each situation but there are only a few actions. CHECK, FOLD, RAISE…….In the Evolution of a poker player, to coin a term from tommy Angelo, a player goes from understanding the simplicity of the game to an appreciation for the infinitely complex. The truth is that no one will ever completely understand the complexities of the game because it is played by people with infinitely complex minds. but what I have found from the successful players I know and observe is that they have the ability to return back to where they started…. at Simplicity. They have the ability to break down a hand running through every possibility but they also compartmentalize this complex thought into a simpler ready to use form. This allows them to seamlessly move from the complex world of numbers and reads back into the simple world of poker. Appreciate and understand the complexity of poker but find a path back to simplicity. That is a goal worth pursuing.

OK I fired up the old Dell “Granpa” Dimension" and started with session 2 after doing some careful review of my hands played at these limits. My plan was to tighten up a little more OOP but still open a pretty wide range from CO and BU. I also had to say F*** FOLD EQUITY because its a figment of my imagination here at these limits and only bet for value or c bet flop and lay down…….It sounds weak I know…….but successful. In my next session I managed to not stack off to any of the local fish and was not bleeding out from my 2 barrels getting called by 33 on Q95A boards. These guys just arent letting go of their hands and everything is going to showdown. My THIN RED LINE is taking a beating !!!!!I also realized that these guys just arent bluffing. 3 bets usually means strength and check calls are weak. For my next session Im going to take these principles with me and look for some better places to open up my game. I don’t think I will change the way I play against the fish but I think there is room to exploit some of the many TAGs that populate these tables Till Next Time.

Well I pretty much got my ass handed to me on the micro limit tables last night. Between the suckouts on the river and getting my c bets constantly 3 bet by a different passive fish I lost a total of 3 BI’s. Including stacking off during a game creation game sigh………..Im not used to most of my profit coming from showdown. Im thinking I will have to tighten up and play TAG for a while and pick some different spots. ……….So with that said Lesson learned and I just have to remeber that my goal each session is not to make money but to make the correct poker decsion which will make me money. Time to dust off and try again!!!

Welcome to my Blog my name is ice chip and like it says in the description I have recently reunited with this bitch poker lol……….seriously I really do love her when she treats me right. I actually started playing about 5 yrs ago loading my first dollars into 50NL full ring at party poker ………lol anyone remember those days……I was so nervous but hit a hot streak of hands and built up a significant bank roll playing TAG style poker. Significant for a college student i should say…… The games were extremely soft back then. >>>>>>>>>>>Well to say the least all that starts well doesnt always end well. I made the decision to switch to 6 max at poker stars after the ban. i changed to LAG style that was advocated in some forum without knowing how to really play that style. I wasn’t bank rolled for the limits I was playing and after a string of TILT SESSIONS I pretty much lost all of my money and half mind from SUckouts and the tilt after shock………………BUT now I AM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I know my story has probably been the story of many of u out there. Since my break up with poker about 3yrs ago I have learned alot and have adapted a LAG style play that is the way that """"I""""""" like to play. I have only been a member of deuces cracked for a little while now but I have watched alot of the videos and found them insightful. With that said. My goal is to play good poker ( mainly) and move up the stakes and this is my dedication to all that have walked in my shoes.
