Weekend Break: Back To the PLO Jungle and How I love Singletabling!!!
Took a break from Poker this weekend… It feels so good at times to go away with friends who have no interest in Poker and just party it up and hang out on a boys weekend… To get away from the laptop, the forums, watching the latest high stakes poker episode and sorry to mention it DC videos (which can become very addictive watching)..
There was no talk about bad beats, suckouts, variance etc and only chat about spots, clubs, parties and food!!! I think once a month at least as poker players one should just get away from it all… Self exclude, shutdown, go on holiday, whatever .. DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO… because you need to keep your mind fresh and get some downtime without everytime you go onto your laptop being magicaly drawn to fire up that pokerwebsite icon and zoning out multitabling…
Regarding Multitabling over the last 3-4 weeks I have moved to only playing one table.. OMG you scream and shout… “YOUR A FISH WE WANT YOU ON AS MANY TABLES AS POSSIBLEâ€. I feel now that I now am at ease of where I am at.. i will never be able to complete with the guys who play 6 tables or more so why bother… Focus on my game on one table and try and maximise what little skill I have (or think I have). I feel this has helped my game a lot. I am now able to fold much more often, able to take detail notes on players, follow the game flow better and also have time to anyalise the hands I sucked out on people and they on me via pokertools.
I also find me watching the action of the table more even when I am not in the hand.. Im thinking how would I have played it if I was in a simalar situation. Checking back the hand history to see what they each had if it gets the showdown and even if it didnt see what lines they had on play.,….
I feel this is really helping my game and I am developing interesting lines on my play and getting much more better reads on my opponents.
Results wise first day back has been good. (watch me now jinx it for the rest of the week by saying im up lol)…. I made $1300 from two Euro sites playing from 1/2 to 3/6 so hopefully the break will pay off into better results..
Now that I am up a decent amount for the first day I am now doing something which I have incorporated into my tilt/bankroll mangement. When I have a big score I lower my daily deposit amount … so if its normally 500 I lower it to 250. I do this to prevent winers tilt where I act reckless after a big win. Even if i do act reckless its gonna cost me less as I cant deposit more than the level I have changed it to. After a couple days I bring it back to the normal deposit level so that I can get back into the swing of things free of thinking about my big (or small in many eyes win)
