Review: AMT Last Man Standing #3
VIDEO #3
Pushing – non-math
- 10-12BB but up to 15BB is pushing zone
- Push ranges widen with shorter stack
- Push range should widen with fewer opponents
- Adjust for CALLING RANGES
- People in general call too tight (but if you have a detailed read that they are calling loose- tighten your range.)
- *When AMT says “in general†he means “in general.†There is NO substitute for detailed reads and the specifics change for each unique situation. *
- There are times on the button when it’s correct to push any 2 depending on stack size (yours and theirs) – and missing these spots is a LEAK. BIG LEAK.
- Mid Game and lower range err on side of folding if unsure.
- Preserve ur fold equity – most important thing winning players fail to do. Often there are times and spots where a similar stack size in BB will fold, BUT you push at the risk of them widening their range later when blinds are higher. Be aware of your image.
- If you push a lot, ur more likely to get called later.
- Beware if you get called super loose – don’t give too much info in general.
- In middle game, it’s OK to pass on some push situations to maintain edge later rounds
- FPS – Fancy play syndrome - STT are pre-flop game. don’t get fancy
- 100/200 – if you haven’t accumulated chips, now is time to buckle down
- Now, at 100/200, don’t pass up on push situations
- Showing with a wider range will be more profitable with this stack size (4-6BB if you haven’t had any hands.) with <4BB wait for reasonably premium hand
- The Phil Vansexton – Open limpers at this blind level probably aren’t good – shove if you have a hand (A/Rag suited, suited connectors) they are limping with JT, suited connectors. You have to know your limpers though – don’t do this lightly. —- THIS IS HUGE. BONEs does this a lot.
- No open LIMP
- PF pot and stack manipulation as important as post flop
- Remember the antes!! NOTE: In the KOs, remember the bounty.
- Know your limpers – YOU HAVE TO HAVE SOME KIND OF IDEA WHO ARE THE LIMPERS…..SET IT UP ON POKER TRACKER
- You don’t want a race – you want the pot uncontested when executing the PVS.
- Bias against confrontation is greatest for everyone at the bubble
- Stack sizes rule at bubble
- 2nd stack on the bubble (3rd place)maintains very delicate equity – Trying to wait out the bubble because a good big stack on the bubble will make it difficult.
- The Shove Any 2 Cards concept is when you have FOLD EQUITY. KNOW YOUR FOLD EQUITY!!
- QTs on the button with 12BB is not necessarily a good shove on FTP without antes.
- With 12BB UTG, don’t shove with small and middle pairs without antes. 66 and down is OK to fold. 88 and up, push it.
- When short (10-12BB), pay attention to stack sizes behind. If they are similar, we maintain fold equity so no need to shove UTG with K9off-type hands.
- Pay attention to the SB completing your BB and push over in some situations.
- * If you don’t have fold equity, tighten your pushing range.*
