February 24, 2010
That was the most productive day I’ve had in a while by a longshot. Played poker for 9 hours, and logged 8000 hands. Watched 2 hours worth of cardrunners videos. Ran a psychology experiment for 4 hours. Went to a lab meeting. Cleaned around the house a bit. Got headphones. A great day overall.
Ended up losing around 200 at the tables. Ran a couple hundred under EV, had a few nasty coolers, coolered a few people, and made a few mistakes. Wasn’t thinking as much about every decision as I should have, so I’ll try to improve that tomorrow. Also had time to watch lost. Its amazing how long your day can be when you wake up at 6 AM when you’re used to sleeping till noon.
Heres another mistake I made, as I told myself I would put them on there, though this one hurts. His turn check min raise = uber strength. My AJ is no good here. Why do I ship?? I didn’t think long enough about his range his hands. What is he check calling flop, then check min raising that turn Almost never a bluff. Approximately all hands that beat me. sets, str8s, 2 pairs, something super strong. Terrible shove that cost me quite a few BBs. Just gotta learn from it. Keep taking time to think about hands, especially when the pots huge. At least 10 seconds if the pot is over 40bb, I think I’ll try to enforce that rule tomorrow. And at least 5 seconds for every pot. But I played this hand horribly.
