FR Variancements?
Apparently full ring NL is not the nitfest it is categorized as. I am having some pretty severe variance for Full RIng lately. I was looking at my long term graph and I seem to have long plateaus followed by huge upspikes, and not many big downswings. I have been going up and down this month though. The other day I was set to put in a big session and proceeded to lose 4 buyins in under 200 hands. I felt myself getting pretty tilted and took the rest of that day and the next off. Today, I logged on again and was up 5+ buyins in under 200 hands. I also have had a 10 buyin day this month for 2k hands, and a breakeven 5k hand day. I guess it just goes to show that daily results mean so little, and I have to work to let the short term not phase me. I am a fan of stop-loss systems for people who tilt at all, though. I have been stopping for the day at 4-5 buyins this year and it has probably saved me a lot of money and misery. Some people I know play their most volume when they are losing or in a long break even stretch - personally I FAR prefer to grind when I am up for the day or having a great month - my confidence is up, I am not being as results oriented, and we all know poker is more fun when you're winning often.
My goals for October are 75k hands of 100fr on Stars, that's it. I have been getting distracted (and losing) at PLO lately, and I've also been splitting time between FR and 6Max. I vowed this month to stick to one stake, one game and just be consistent and steady eddie-like. I escrowed 1k with a friend who is going to check PTR and make sure I play nothing but 100fr :)
