200nl - The grind is on..
Hey guys and welcome to my first DC blog post. I can’t promise much effort or high content material here, just my ramblings, goals, some results and stories. 2010 has been a rocky year so far… I felt very motivated after the New Year that this is the year I will break through to being a midstakes regular and travel more. So far I have accomplished little to that end. I got bronchitis in early January and hardly played, then after that I had a heart problem and had to stay away from stress (poker included) for a few weeks until I made sure everything is ok with me (it is). The calendar turned to February and then my Dad came to visit from New York for 10 days. I spent a lot of time with him which was nice, but that was more time not playing poker. I finally am ready to get down to business.
For the past few months I have been playing mostly 100nl, as I cashed out a lot of money for buying a car, and for security. I decided I wanted low stress for a while and wasn’t playing my best, and I am never one to be too proud to move down. I had a nice run at 100nl and my online roll is back over 10k, so I am looking to move back to 200nl. I like to have at least 50 buyins for any level I grind and then if I get down to 30 or 40 I move back down until I have 50 again.
So far I have played 3500 hands of 200fr in the past 2 days and I am down about 3.5 buyins. I haven’t won a pot over 60bbs yet, and have been coolered for a stack 4 or 5 times already – typical stuff for first days moving up. If I get down 10 buyins I will probably move back to 100 for a bit to regain my confidence. I’ll update here pretty soon – good luck guys and look for my 9th ringside video coming soon!

I had the same situation moving up from 5NL to 10NL and just yesterday from 10NL to 25NL. Tho in 6m not FR. I've had to move back down but hopefully you get to fall on the good side of variance and get to stick at 200NL.

Glad to hear you're doing alright healthwise. I enjoyed some of your older FR vid content.
