First Blog.
Hi all,
Here is my first blog im writing, sitting here listening to the first episode of Real Life Micro No Limit Grinders. I have been playing poker recreationally for about a year now, im looking to improve massively to help support myself at university. Making a living out of poker would be idea, but i don’t want to get too ahead of myself just yet.
A little bit about myself – I am 19yrs old in my first year of university. The last year i have learnt poker by playing with my friends, 2 of which also grind online and are actually quite a bit better than me, but we also play a lot of live games between us and go to the local casino where they hold cash games and MTT’s. I used to play on pokerstars but have moved to full tilt now because i prefer the site and find there are so many more people/fish playing there. I play 5nl at the moment, i have about 30BI’s for this level and i have been fairly stagnant at this level for the past few months. I know i can beat it but i don’t have the strictness required at the moment as i tend to throw away BI’s by trying to make stupid play. This is an obvious leak of mine and is the first one i am aiming to plug. Before i have built up a roll to about $350 but i threw it away after going on tilt after busting one of the mini FTOP’s events. Apart from that i don’t tend to tilt too bad, which i think is a great strength as my 2 other friends who play online have serious issues with tilt that they need to sort.
My aims – I am aiming to reach 25nl by christmas although not sure if this is going to be possible, i will be happy with a large BR for 10nl. 1-2k hands a day should be fairly standard, i only 4-6 table at the moment (mostly 4) as i feel i don’t have the ability to play more tables than that comfortably.
So there we go that’s a little bit about myself, i am going to hopefully post a blog at the minimum of once a week, to let everybody know how i am getting on (thats if anybody is interested ) and yeah lets just see how it goes.
Cheers
George
