For the fourth (I think) time this week I managed to get myself close to real/final table type money in a thousand player plus small entry fee tourney. I think I’m playing well, maybe still a bit too tight and Im not sure Im playing the big stack well enough (I know, what she said), but damn, everytime I get close I get so card dead and cant flop well, just a little piece of the board out of the blinds, anything, any little thing to keep me in there would help.

I did my share of bluffing and won plenty without showdown, I even called a shove with dueces when I was sure the dude was stealing, he was, with offsuit unpaired face cards, but I lost anyways. this one took just about four hours. and when I was finally forced to shove with a suited ace and like 8bbs left, i run into KK and the cat turns quad kings. insult to injury. i promise you this….. one day soon, imma win.

Separately i came in 12th or so in the 33 player PR league HORSE horse event. I played well there too, If I do say so my damn self, and was in good shape till the horrifying end, when in all honesty i misplayed a set. HORSE tourneys are rough cause you can win ten hands in a row early on, but when those blinds increase in the later levels, two big losses in a row and your toast. anyways, good players in that one, and learned the true value of 5,7 off from feiuha, who won two massive pots playing this, his favorite hand.

I am basically practicing before I kick the buy ins up a notch or two to $10 to $20. If anyone has any opinion on whether $10 MTTs play any different than $2 MTTs online let me know what you think. I also need to go back to some cash games to get in that frame of mind in advance of trip to Vegas next thrs. anyways, thats most likely more than anyone wanted to know. peace.
