Lvl up

Got my first training video released. Probably not that interesting here since it's in Polish language, but since this is the site I've learned the most from I submit the link: http://pl.pokerstrategy.com/video/15051/ and you can use google translate to view the comments.

One day I will apply for DC.

The best learning experiance

I’ve been on DC for nearly 4 months now. Can’t get this blog going full time thou. I don’t find myself witty and willing enough in a foreign language, but this deserves a post.

Deuces cracked has great learning material. The videos, the forums, study groups – we all know it, this stuff is gold. But one thing that I really got from DC is after watching the coaching tree, after reading some WoT & Joe Tall posts here and 2+2 is… I started to coach regularly guys from NL 25-50. And if you are aiming to become a good player I would advise to do it also.

First of all you find errors in your game / reasoning – if I’m not able to explain something to a guy on lower stakes – I think about it and maybe there is something wrong in my game. Second thing is that you boost confidence in your play abilities and hand reading, well you have to be good at it to help someone else right? So it makes you try harder not to look stupid in front of someone else’s money :D and it does feel good if you have a rough time in your game to see arbitrary that your decisions are good and making profit. Finally perception, you have to spot more things than a guy that is playing and spot them faster than he auto folds / checks / bet in a tricky spot.

So thank you DC for opening my mind for it – now I’m spreading the wisdom :) Thank you bergop from DC and some polish guys I coach. Anyone that plays 6max NL 25-50 can msg me on skype: wafflecop / FullTimeSmile.

Sick

I’ve caught a flue. Can’t play that much, nothing to write about, but it really makes you wonder how much you can take if you are healthy and fully rested. So if you want to work on your A game – start by wearing a scarf ;)

Also – The Coaching Tree is the nuts. Like quads, reinvented.

Running good - how I owe 200$ to WiltOnTilt

Oh god, why it’s so difficult to start this thing..

I’ve made a decision to post more up to date results and more thoughts about my game, and the game of poker. And it took me 6 days to write this post.

I think I’ve made some serious improvements in my game, and with no great deal of bad beats I remain to play cool-headed so my half month results are 12.5k hands played with 5.7 ptbb/100. Cool thing for me. I smile a lot, not only pretending to have that smirk glued to my face when I was grinding. I watched WiltOnTilts Haj School series and I keep a notebook on my game, my questions, the topics I think I can improve like blinds defence .
I went further with that topic and picking up what WoT said – I watched first season of pr1nnyraiding to improve my out of blinds and out of position game. And that’s the way I owe him 200$ because on his table selecting advice I ran like this:

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold’em – 2 players

BB: $33.60
Hero (BTN/SB): $50.25

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BTN/SB with Kc 6c
Hero raises to $1.50, BB calls $1

Flop: ($3.00) 9c 3d Tc (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2, BB calls $2

Turn: ($7.00) 5c (2 players)
BB bets $4, Hero raises to $10, BB calls $6

River: ($27.00) 7d (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $36.75 all in, BB calls $20.10 all in

Final Pot: $67.20
BB mucks Ks Ts
Hero shows Kc 6c (a flush, King high)
Hero wins $66.70
(Rake: $0.50)

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold’em – 2 players

BB: $35.75
Hero (BTN/SB): $67.60

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BTN/SB with 9d Tc
Hero raises to $1.50, BB calls $1

Flop: ($3.00) 8h 7s 2d (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2, BB calls $2

Turn: ($7.00) 4h (2 players)
BB bets $4.50, Hero calls $4.50

River: ($16.00) 6c (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $13, BB calls $13

Final Pot: $42.00
BB mucks Kc Kh
Hero shows 9d Tc (a straight, Ten high)
Hero wins $41.50
(Rake: $0.50)

The next one actually goes on KRANTZ account on tips how to play LAGs/Maniacs:

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold’em – 2 players

Hero (BTN/SB): $51.50
BB: $46.15

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BTN/SB with Kh Jh
Hero raises to $1.50, BB calls $1

Flop: ($3.00) 8h Td Jc (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2, BB raises to $6, Hero calls $4

Turn: ($15.00) 7h (2 players)
BB bets $12, Hero calls $12

River: ($39.00) As (2 players)
BB bets $26.65 all in, Hero calls $26.65

Final Pot: $92.30
Hero shows Kh Jh (a pair of Jacks)
BB shows 5d Qc (Ace Queen high)
Hero wins $91.80
(Rake: $0.50)

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold’em – 2 players

BTN/SB: $50.25
Hero (BB): $73.60

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with Ts Jd
BTN/SB raises to $1.50, Hero calls $1

Flop: ($3.00) Kc Jh 9d (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets $2, Hero calls $2

Turn: ($7.00) Qd (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets $6, Hero raises to $22, BTN/SB raises to $46.75 all in, Hero calls $24.75

River: ($100.50) 3c (2 players – 1 is all in)

Final Pot: $100.50
BTN/SB shows Kd As (a pair of Kings)
Hero shows Ts Jd (a straight, King high)
Hero wins $100.00
(Rake: $0.50)

In only 409 hands I’ve made a little over 200 bucks, and had soooo much fun.. The only thing that bugs me is that if I have good results I tend to get lazy, so no poker pro for me yet ;) As for plans for the rest of the month – watch more DC videos, blog once a week, learn HU more, and continue to WHACKEM!

October round up

Hi again all,
It’s not like I think a lot of you are waiting to read this :D maybe I should post more often to get more readers, but I’ve been running bad and playing bad in the past month so I really didn’t want to share my results and hands.

The worst of all I know where I make most of my mistakes and still continue to make them, like a kinky fetish of some sort. So – less kinky spews, more A game is my goal for November.

So what can I write here that isn’t about my play, but some overall progress I’ve done in October? I’m going to post which series I’ve watched:

- From the ground up
- Real life micro NL Grinder
- Real life micro NL Grinder 2
- Mathematics of Poker
- Unconventional Wisdom

partially watched:
- Road to Robusto NL 4/8
- +EVolution of a Poker Player 4/8
- Eightfold Path to Poker Enlightenment 2/8

to watch:
- Turning the corner
- The ugly duckling
- Professor Plotkin
- The coaching tree 1 & 2
- Remix
if I can make it. Another goal is to watch those series so I can be up to date with DC material about micro NL and be able to ask and comment right after the video comes out.

So I wish myself good attitude and running hot as it always helps. If I manage to play well I think I’ll write some more.

Overwhelmed by DC

Hi everyone,
So as, a new member of deuces cracked I’ll say a few things about myself. I’m 24yo computer science student. I live in Poland and up to today I’ve been playing NL Holdem for about a year.

For first few months it was me playing with buddies and being 1st lvl thinker at SNG and cash games but I managed to grind to NL 50 when I started to loose money, and then cashed out to go on a vacation. I always wanted to learn and for past few months I’ve read and disscused poker more than I actually had time to play. But when I sat down at the tables it was good, I was good.

As I wanted to further improve my game I subscribed to DC. And after a month of grinding through NL 25 when I gained access to the videos I can say “wow :O”. Got to find additional time for poker – there is simply too mutch information to process here :D

So this month will be NL 50 for me and going through WiltOnTilt and tubasteve materials. Hopefully on both things I’ll do well.
