Starting up.
So, I’ve been playing to and from since 2004. Always recreationally, but it’s supplemented my student loans quite a bit over the years. Nothing spectacular, but I’ve been able to spend an extra $100-$200 or so every other month.
Apart from a few MTT scores (at most something like $1500-ish), I’ve mainly played SnG’s, but it’s been a while now. I’ve also had a successful stint on NLHE, playing €0.5/1 and €1/2 with a +€4000 roll at most, though this was during the golden years 2005/2006-ish.
Main problem has obviously always been that I’m short on cash and eventually cash shit out leaving me with a decimated roll. For this reason I’ll try to build my roll from an amount I could afford to do without and NO cash-outs for a while.
I’ll be playing SnG’s on Full Tilt, starting with the $2.25s 9-mans and a 50 buy-in rule. I’ll be mixing in higher SnGs as I get to 30 buy-ins on the higher level and make the full step up once I’m at 50 buy-ins at that level. While I know 50 buy-ins is pushing it a bit, I want to build the roll decently fast and therefore use kind of an agressive BR management. And it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I lost the current $100.
I might up my BRM to 100 buy-ins if I feel the variance is getting too wild.
My long-term plan is to build a roll for HU NLHE and 6-max PLO which I enjoy far more than SnGs, but they are good for building BR. I’ll consider the switch (or rather mixing them in) when I have something like $2000 for the $0.25/0.50 which I don’t really want to play lower than.
I’m currently watching AMT’s “Last Man Standingâ€-SnG series. Though I know my fair share of SnG strategy having played over 2000 of them, I’m by no means an expert and since it was a long time ago, I’ll appreciate input on pushing strategy.
When I make the switch over to cash games I’ll be sure to watch the appropriate video series on this, but for now it’s SnGs. I have a lot to learn.
I’ll be using SNG Tracker and SNG wiz to record results and review my game, but since I mostly play in OS X, there won’t be daily updates on this.
So, starting now. Here’s my bankroll: $100
To be updated…
