The Long Haul
Tomorrow is saturday...the weather is predicted to be shit...my girlfriend is away for the weekend... hmmmm what to do?
.. I know....go for my first full poker shift!
Plan is to get a good nights sleep tonight, get up bright and early...well 8.30 or something and go straight out for a cycle around the canal to get the body and mind going and stop off at the bakery to get some breakfast! (exciting!)
Come home, shower, start playing at 10am. The morning isnt exactly the greatest time to play so im going to start tight, which is always good for the beginning of a session anyway. Hopefully the fact that its saturday will bring some fishies to the table a bit earlier.
i want to play around 8 hours total spread over the day, never more than 1h 30m at a time without GOOD reason (e.g. theres a maniac who just keeps reloading!) and intend to take a break anytime I win/lose 3BI's.
On a side and unrelated note... will use breaks to bake pizza... love homemade pizza dough! Hooray for tomorrow... will write up some results/thoughts!
Round 1: first 1h 30 min session .... slow, not too many tough decisions.... lots of donking (not from me) ... 800 hands, +1.5 BI
Round 2: A lot more action, more aggressive tables, lot more fish - didnt get many cards to play them with though. Unfortunately a lot of coolers too e.g. villain calling f+t with 2nd pair and rivering 2pair. Maybe one or two unnecessary bluff, one into shortstacked villain...suicide. Anyway in general went well....no expensive errors and some good hands... another 800 hands, -0.5 BI
Round 3: actually consisted of 2 1h 30min sessions. Second one was prob my worst session in terms of concentration. Again nothing major. Im basically even for the last 1500 hands. so still just 1 BI up for the day. I feel im playing fine though. Going to take a long break now.. make pizza.... then get back in for the sat evening crowd...see if I can boost the winnings a bit!! ... 1500 hands, +-0!!
....tired... 5000 hands and 1 BI down...bit of an anti-climax... pizza was good though.
