Gah. Motivation.
The toughest thing about this health/weight-loss propbet are the days where I feel completely, utterly, hopelessly demotivated. Today is one of those days. Yesterday was a tough day — 6 hill sprints (1min basically straight uphill) at Carkeek park sandwiched in between 100+ crunch/other ab exercises, followed by 2 laps (~3.9mi) of crazy-ass trail running (200ft/mile elevation gain. BOOM). Was wiped at the end of the day and understandably so, but I was supposed to hit the gym for weights at the very least today (probably a good idea to take cardio off).
Unfortunately, no matter how hard I try, I just haven’t been able to get motivated to hit the weights otday. Normally for me that’s a sign that I need to take a day off, which might be true, but last week I was in NYC working and only ran once, and didn’t hit weights at all, so I’m basically going on all cardio and sprints (HIIT) in the past 1.5 weeks, which isn’t ideal.
Grr. Just venting, I guess, because I think it’s pretty likely that I’m going to do nothing today, hit HIIT + weights hard tomorrow, and go for a 14mi run on Saturday. I suppose that’s ok, and everyone needs a day off now and then, no?
