Back on the health kick.
It's been a while. Portland Marathon is coming up on October 10th, and I'm a bit behind my training schedule. Figure it's time to lose some more weight (I've gotten back up to ~195), so 10-15lb of fat loss should help a lot when it comes to running efficiency. I'm going to replace drinking alcohol with playing golf (more expensive, but also more fun). Going to mix in a lot more speed training than I've done in the past (sprints, tempo work) and some additional weight lifting as well, so I lose as little muscle mass as possible while training for endurance.
Wish me luck. I've got a long road ahead (goal: 4 marathons in 36 days - October 10th, Ultramarathon (50k) on October 31st, then NY Marathon on November 7th and possibly Malibu Marathon on November 14th). Craziness.
