Mixing in some HUPLO
Cliffs notes: Ran like ass, then ran like god.
General observations:People 3-bet way too much with hands that you don’t really want to be 3-betting as much. I’m still fooling around with the game but I see a ton of people 3-betting hands like A73Q suited to the Ace when it’s much better to play pot control with that hand unless your opponent is ridiculously straightforward postflop. I don’t mind the 3-bets as much when you have good suited+some rundown potential like A976, A986 type hands, which aren’t great but I think are decent hands to mix into 3-betting occasionally, along with double pairs and monsters. Just a general observation for now though as I still don’t have a ton of hands under my belt.
Ugly hand of the day goes to an opponent who was nicely trying to chat me up to pretend that he wasn’t a short-buying hit and run artist (he came back and accidentally sat with me a second time after winning a few pots and getting a deep stack). I don’t have any issues with deciding that you don’t feel comfortable playing deep (though LOL at calling 120BB deep), but I’d prefer if you were upfront rather than pretending you had to go, then coming back, then immediately leaving again. No worries, didn’t tilt me at all, but it would have been nice to keep playing him because he was HORRIBLE postflop (not that great preflop either).
