Right now I am tilting and I believe that tilting is my main problem of loosing money in online poker. So let’s take a deeper look at what causes me to tilt:
1. Coolers. They do not cause me to tilt, since I know these happen in poker.
2. Missclicks. Oh, this makes me tilt a lot. I have a tendency to be quick at pressing buttons or checking boxes. The thing I hate most is when I want to check a box quick and suddenly my opponent bets and I missclick ‘call’. This makes me super angry. Usually I do not check the boxes, but I do this when I want to speed up the game.
Solution: Do not check boxes when playing HU.
3. Tired. When I am tired I want to speed up the game. This causes me to make fast (bad) decisions and even missclicks. Sucks so much :D
Solution: Play no more than 1 hour a session and than make at least 10 min good break (like Tommy Angelo said in the series “The Eightfold Path to Poker Enlightmentâ€.
4. My mistakes. I cosider mistakes to be thing when I lose against opponents entire range and make a -EV decision. Usually this happen when I am tired or try to rush the game. Any bad thing can cause a chain reaction and I get tilted. When I make mistakes I become even more tilted.
Solution: Whenever I make a big mistake and feel tilted, I will take a break (regardless if 1 hour has passed or not).
5. Running bad. This also does not cause me to tilt, but sometimes I start rushing to play (so I could get good cards faster) and this causes me to tilt :D. Only solution to this is to be patient, which I am, when I am not tilted.
Now I know my tilting problems and solutions and I feel much better. Whenever I will tilt and lose money, I will stop and do my analysis, so that I would diminish tilting from my game. So no tilting anymore, I can go to play :) This self-analysis helped me a lot.
