chipleader update
hi guys, so the chipleader event went on over the weekend
was a good comp, lovely structure with 40 min levels. The table I was on (didn't move all day) was pretty good, there were some interesting dynamics going on, I was pretty active/aggy and was getting into some 3 bet/ 4 bet wars. As we were pretty deep I had to be quite careful though!
Anyways, I lasted until lateish in day 1 when my KK obvs run into Aces. With an A on the flop and a picture card, and a blank turn I was drawing to 6 outs and missed.
My mate on the other hand did rather well. On sunday when there were circa 20 remaining he was THE chipleader. I left at 10ish and told him to text me and i'll pick it up in the morning. I have just woke up this morning, turns out he was out in 11th when his AA < A3 on a 33x board. Ouchy.
I've been reading some of the updates on blonde poker and it appears there has been some controversy with 'signalling'. Another player at the table was peeling his cards quite openly so that the people behind him railing could see his cards, and a TD noticed a guy signalling right behind him, allegedly!
If this is the case (pretty hard to prove but not impossible), it's pretty disgusting. The 'rail' accused of signalling were supporting their mate, who goes on to ship the whole thing! Now i'm not saying they are all guilty as A) I wasn't there and B) I don't have the full story, but if it turns out to be true, that's pretty sick for the other players who missed out. I hope it's all a misunderstanding though.
On sunday when I went over to see my mate playing I reg'd for a super 50. Managed to build up to around the chip leaders just shy of the money when my AJ< 88 on an AJ8 board busts me. SF rigged!
