The super 50! gogogogogogogo

Really looking forward to the super 50 in just under a week’s time at my local poker room.

I guess i’m quite lucky living quite close to the venue – dusk till dawn (any DC members reading this play/have played here)?

Here in the UK, outside of london you’d be hard pushed to find facilities as good as DTD. In the bigger events (£1000/ $1700 buy in) main events it’s attracted international stars such as Doyle Brunson, Annette O, James Akenhead, luke shwartz etc etc as well as a number of established British pros like nick persuad, dave colclough, kalmar etc.

Here’s the structure of the event i’m entering, right within my budget and a tasty structure imo:

I’ve played the £100 version of this, and the standard was OK but beatable, despite me busting early. What attracts me to this super 50 above all else is the fact that it’s relatively deep and it has 270 players. 10K starting stack with first level at 25/50 is pretty cool, and if you do go far in this you can get like 14-16 hours worth of poker out of it!

My track record at DTD is finally coming together. The last 3 times ive been ive cashed twice:

1) 6th place in the £50 for a take home of £170

2) Busted in £25

3) Did a deal when we were 3 handed in the £25 and took home £350!

With a bit of success online of recent times, im trying not to get carried away, but i’m certainly feeling more confident than ever.

Hopefully in a week’s time i’ll put a brag blog up about my sick score in the super 50!

adios amigos

Take it down Son!! Sounds like a sick super deep tournament. Plenty of play for everyone, AKA any hand combination sees a flop. Dodge those land mines and take it down!!

I had an email about these they look really good value. I haven't any live experience, could be a good place for me to start. What do you think??

hi there, 4everleeds.

Personally I think its good value for sure.. Its a deep stack event, 10k starting chips, and most if not all of the deep stack events sell out (270 players), so prize pool wise, its good 'value' - i think the first prize will be around £4000, as the £100 equivilent of this - the '20:20' is around 8k first prize.

If you haven't had live experience though, i'm not sure if the deepstack would be for you in the first instance however. If you do really well for example and get close to the cash, you're going to be sat at the table for at least 9 hours as its an all day event, with lots of players! I've run deep a few times before at the £25 and £50 freezouts and played for like 7 hours a few times, after a full day at work, so i'm kind of used to long sessions. That said obviously I don't know you though and your poker experience, you may play MTTs online and play all night regularly, if this is the case, give the super 50 a shot for sure. And hit me with a message on here if you ever decide to come down, if i'm there i'll come and say hi.

If youve any other questions about DTD let me know as i go fairly regularly.

Do you / have u been?
