So I played The biggest live tourney in the UK

Met up with Browndog from DC- top guy- i owe you a pint couldnt find you after 2nd break!
Enjoyed the tourney, crucial pot in the latter stages:
Blinds 600/1200 ante 100. Short stack shoves 10k in front of me, I'm on the button with 20K peel a pair of 9s, i  know i'm comfortably ahead of his 6bb range, so I comfortably reshove all in hoping to get heads up showdown, sb mucks, but a tight lady who i've played a lot with (a DTD reg), shoves 12ish k from the bb! At this point i'm convinced she's got an overpair, but she tables AQ and the initial shover has KQ! I'm fist pumping inside and if the chair I was sat on had wheels i'd be triple chair spinning at this point and high fiving the dealer!Â
But the flop brings an A, I don't hit and i'm now just under 10k. Very next hand I insta shove 95sooted and the tighty nemesis of mine who is now in sb smooth calls and i know im crushed. Yup, AQ again, and with an A on the flop and turn i'm outta here.Â
Still 133 out of 450 isn't too bad, but if I win that 99 pot i'm up to 40k, and I felt I had a small edge over most of the table, as they were playing far too tight imo and i'd have gone after lots of pre flop pots while they all wait for a hand.
Maybe some photos to follow, as this photographer took about 100 pics of me, as my seat was the perfect angle for a photographer from the viewing bit, I think she caught me do a 'chip shuffle fail' though - while the guy to my left was in a pot, may have to put that up for giggles. FML. Â
Another FML Moment: A dealer who was new, a young kid who irritated everyone at my table including me, as he didnt seem to know what was going on, or care for that matter, or try to provide a good service, kept making mistakes all night, while yawning. Anyway, this guy goes to deal and when the 2nd card comes round to me he pushes it far too hard to stand a chance of staying on the table, it sails about 5 metres away. He announces mis deal, I pick it up off the floor, its a K. I then have a look at my first card. Its an Ace. I'm in the BB and hadn't seen a hand in about 2 hours, and I was short stacked. FFS. I don't mind if there's a new dealer, making multiple mistakes, but if they seem to be trying hard, i'll offer words of encouragement and help, this guy sat there yawning, at one point after showdown, 1 guy is waiting for the dealer to count his stack to get the same amount from his opponent, basically the dealer asks the guy to count his own stack? idiot. Hope he gets sacked, lazy git.
WTF Moment: This weird kid raises pre, gets a caller out of the blinds. She checks, weird kit bets, she calls. Turn is checked, he goes all in quickly, for 5K. Pot at this point maybe 8.5k. She tanks, calls. Bare in mind this is the turn, pot now about 14k. He instantly mucks (!?!) stands up, and leaves. Dealer looks down at the mucked cards, looks at us, puzzled, we all look at each other, you could practically see WTF written in everyones eyes, the guy has left the building and the dealer is like "ummmm" and he (maybe bad dealer/table etiquette or perfectly legitimate, i dunno), peels his cards. He was open ended on the turn, LOLLLLL). We kind of thought  he can't have known he was open ended. Still, weird as hell moment.Â
All in all, a great ran tourney though, with a ridiculously good value prize. Definitely going to the next one if i can make it.Â
Thanks for reading, hopefully pics to follow of me and my chip shuffle fail
