I haven't really blogged in a while so I thought it would be a good point to do so.
After my last downswing I took a small break. I couldn't see anymore poker at that time and by just opening the software I got a terrible feeling inside me. I never had this sick of a feeling before when it comes to poker, so I really figured out it was time for a break. The break just took one week, but it helped me a lot. I got my head straight again and I had thought about some things. First of all I realized it would be better for me to not play everyone and tableselect a little bit more. I mean, sounds stupid I didn't figure that out earlier, but I think my ego just thought "I crush u all!". Even so I did, it can happen to everyone that you loose 30-40 buyins easily, even if you play your A-Game the whole time (which I didn't). But if you play vs players that you have more of an edge on, your results will be better, because if you have won 100 buyins and now you loose 30, it doesn't hurt as much as if you just won 60 buyins and then loose 30 of them.
The only thing that I really hate is when players imediately go on sitout when the fish goes on sitout. This is an absolute no go! I can understand why games break when the fish left the game, or if a player doesn't want to sit in a game with 5 regs. But if there is a fish on the table, and you are just playing if he plays, srsly, that sucks. Most of the time if the first player goes on sitout, the 2nd player will do this and so on, and finally you sit at a table on which 5 players are on sitout. Don't do this. Even so the fish won't play for 20-100 hands, you won't loose 10bb/100 all of the sudden. If your edge against the other players would be that bad, it wouldn't even make sense for you to play if the fish sits in, because if the fish is like a 10bb/100 looser, there are just 2bb/100 for you to get, and if you loose 10bb/100 to the other players, well I guess you can figure out for yourself that you wouldn't be winning in this situation. So, if you want to tableselect, do it. But if you have a table on which a fish sits in, don't go suddenly on sitout if he does.
I just played a satellite to the Belgian Poker Series ME in Blankenberge, but I bubbled it :D Made a few weird plays at the end which cost me the ticket. But, I'm going to play the tournament, even so I have to buyin directly now, but that's ok. I'm really looking forward to this, because I'd finally like to win one :P Well, even so obv is obv, I go there to enjoy some time away from my regular life. I'll be there just for a few days, but I think that's enough.
This whole thing is so dirty :( I mean, I really believe this guy should go to jail. It is a little bit to easy to scam people in the poker community and to come of clean. I mean, if you just have to pay back what you have stolen and the community might hate you, if I would be in his shoes, finally realizing that I am not a poker prodigy, then why not make that easy money? This might sound hard at first, but if people really are that stupid, then there will always be someone who will take advantage of it. I really feel he gets away with this a little bit to easy. Srsly, if a friend of mine would have stolen 30k from me, and after I found it out and he tells me like "oh sry bro, here's ur money back, cool?", of course I would take my money back at first, but I would go to the police afterwards. If a friend trys to steal from you, he isn't a friend, so you shouldn't think of "the old good days", he didn't do it, too! Even if you say friendship>money, you should ask yourself how everyone else in this situation views it, and if your friend views money>friendship, then there is no real friendship. Just my 2 cents to this story
Alright that's it for now. If you have any questions etc, just write them in the comments. Thx for reading!
