First losing session at midstakes, my mindset is tested.
So the day finally came where I ran bad/played bad since reading and watching Tommy Angelos series/book.
I was grinding 2/4 yesterday and hit a 5 buyin downswing. No biggie really in terms of out of the norm, but It still got to me losing 2k pretty quick. So I took a breathe got up from my computer and went downstairs and ate dinner. While eating dinner the tilt resonated in the back of my head, but I still kept my cool, and practiced breathing a few times. Great. So I come back from dinner and head up stars immediately (this should have been my first clue in that I was still tilting) and sat back down to play again. I play well but get myself into situations i've never been in before and lose another couple of buyins. Ouch down roughly 6-7 buyins now. So I self exclude myself from FTP for the night and play some video games. MUCH better than my old self, but still need some work.
Today I woke up ate breakfast and got myself organized before I sat down to play. (Which was a major problem I used to have if I had a bad night before... I would just wake up and begin my tilt sesh from the previous night.) So I start playing 2/4 again and ouch lost another couple of buyins. Now I'm down roughly 8-9 buyins and it has finally gotten to me. I switch to stud hi and sit down at 30/60... Another problem I've always had. (sitting at higher stakes after having a losing day or two) I get some action and start two tabling HU 30/60 stud hi. Now if you asked me if I was a huge favorite in both games, I'd have to humbly say no, it wasn't the best spot for me. I do believe I was favorite, but not big enough to be taking a semi shot after having a losing day.
So I still have a lot of work to do. I notice what I did and broke it down so that hopefully in the future I can avoid doing these things if I hit my tilt status again. I made 3k during the stud HU matches, but that's really not good, because if I had lost 3k the other way, you can imagine that I might hit a bad point. I told myself if I had lost a certain amount I would ban myself from the games so who knows if it would have happened, but I will now work on not sitting at stakes higher than what I have assigned myself, until I have a good run.

Making mistakes is great when you recognize them and adjust. It seems that is just what you did.
