Going to be a big bet player

So I’ve had enough of Stud for awhile. I want to learn a new game. It’s been so long since I’ve put in the effort to learn a new game like I learned the mixed games, that I forgot how to learn new games! This of course is an exaggeration, but I am ready to start learning big bet seriously. So in order to start my journey to the other side I’ve purchased these books

“The Theory of Poker: A Professional Poker Player Teaches You How To Think Like One”
“No Limit Hold ’em: Theory and Practice”
“Professional No-Limit Hold ’em: Volume I”

I’ve heard these are good corner stones for any NLHE player’s library.
I will be playing a lot of FRNLHE as well…Enter FR horror story here. My intentions are to climb the FR stakes while learning a new form of poker that seems to be plentiful in game selection and frequency that can also help me in live play as well. So if any of you FR nuts want to swap sessions or pick up a new student let me know!

Why FR, and why NLHE? Are you getting ready for the series? I'd still probably just learn short handed/heads up rather than learn FR. Then again I wouldn't bother learning NLHE.

I probably chose full ring to get ready for the live games at the WSOP, and for some reason it appeals to me. 6 max is very cut throat, and when I'm grinding I like to multitask, something I can't do playing HU or 6 max.

Whilst all of these books have merits I think they pale in comparison to the DC library on NLHE. If you really must have a book I'd go for the SSNLHE Ebook by Miller, Metha and Flynn.

I think Hand-Readers and pr1nnyraiding. HR is a little harder to watch than a normal video series because of the power-point style action, but it will cover all the basic spots faster than any other single series and you can more easily skip through a hand if you already "get it". pr1nnyraiding (although HU) will give you an immediate insight into how to adjust as a NLHE player, and you should be perfectly capable of applying this to 6max and FR by analogy with your poker capabilities.

lol @ watching pr1nnyraiding to prep for FR and especially live FR. Watch Dan's FR content. GL with the transition.
