So I started this little project one year ago today because it was suggested for DC coaches to have one by JoeTall. Little did I know I'd enjoy writing my random thoughts this much. This blog won't have anything extra special in it, however I'd like to point out that I am now the #2 most viewed blog on DC and a nipping on Entity's heels for #1 in DC blog supremacy. I'd also like to thank my readers, the comments on my first few helped a lot as far as me continuing to write and hoenstly didn't expect this blog to be as popular as it has become.
Firstly, I did watch El Clasico last night and while I only generally watch soccer every four years even I knew that was incredibly impressive by Barcelona last night. It was amazing how they could do pretty much whatever they wanted and in the second half they would just posses the ball until they felt like trying to score and it generally resulted in a great chance. I've never seen a more impressive outing by one team although my sample size is admittedly very small. Wish I could've gone as the atmosphere looked second to none.
In my first blog entry I talked about going on a diet, well this is an obvious brag since then I've lost about 20 pounds and have been able to keep it off which is something I don't usually do as I get lazy. However, just wanted to point out that losing weight actually isn't that hard. My Mom, who is a dietitian has always stressed portion control. Her favorite mainstream diet is Weight Watchers because they allow you to eat anything as long as it's within reason and you don't go over your points. I was recently reading this article about a health professor that went on a twinkie diet and lost 27 pounds. It's a very cool article and just shows how important portion control is.
I'll be writing by 2010 recap pretty soon and it'll be a lot more fun to write than last years, but for now you get my December goals.
- Play 40k hands
- Run 60 miles
- Qualify for the PCA
- Finish my Series 6 book and schedule my exam
- Make the DC Short investment video I volunteered for
I don't have anything cool planned for December but hopefully it's a great month that allows me to go to the PCA and sets up other things for 2011. Best of luck, run well.
