I’ve completed the 45k hands for the month. I think it’ll be good for me as this month it felt like I was playing forever and in future months the task will be less daunting. The sad part is I won at 9 PTBB/100 for the month but because of a bad tilt session at 200 I only made like 850 for the month. Oh well, live and learn.
On a similar note the latest episode of Santa’s Chanukah helpers is applicable to all forms of poker. Krantz talks about the keys to getting better and moving up in stakes. For me I really need to watch and take notes on WiltonTilt’s math series. I currently have a rough estimate of equities that aren’t too far off but I really need to know the exact percentages. It really isn’t that hard and it’s sort of inexcusable that I haven’t done that to this point.
I’m currently about $800 away from moving back up to .5/1. I’m going to move back with 50 BI since I know I can beat the limit and the rake can be pretty brutal at 50nl. However, I can’t even explain the difference in playing overfilled for the first time in a long time. I no longer get frustrated with bad beats, coolers, etc. It’s a lot easier to just laugh it off and move onto the next hand. It’s also much easier to fold a made hand.
On a separate note, I finished first, first, and third in my fantasy football leagues. As I said before I’ll never do 3 leagues again but it was obviously very fun to do so well and I was extremely fortunate.
Have a safe and happy New Year.
You can’t let praise or criticism get to you. It’s a weakness to get caught up in either one.
