Lets do it team USA
- I cannot over emphasize how excited I am for the USA-Canada hockey final tomorrow. I loved what Burke did with the team going young after the embarrassment in 2006. However I didn’t think the team would play this well, I don’t think anyone did. We’re obviously not as talented as Canada but Miller is the great equalizer, if he plays well we’ll have a chance.
- With that being said I think every Canadian is more excited about the game than me. I read an article that 21 million out of 33 million were watching the Canada-Russia game. How many people do you think are going to be watching the gold medal game? 25 million, 30 million? Either way it’s amazing that one team can pretty much shut a country down.
- I’ve never seen a goalie pull himself like Kiprusoff did in the first period of the game. That coupled with him only coming to the Olympics if he was the starting goalie really opened himself up to a lot of criticism. His defense didn’t give him a ton of help yesterday but that first goal was just awful puck play by him.
- I can’t really give a prediction for the game tomorrow. As an American it’s tough to see this team beating Canada twice in one week. My gut tells me Canada is going to win but I didn’t expect the US to win last Sunday either so we’ll see what happens. In 2002 I was actually optimistic going into the gold medal game and they lost hopefully tomorrow provides a different result.

Canada is way more talented, but we have just the team to beat them. The only thing is Canada finally put in a non-washed up goalie. So we aren't going to get the gifts we got last game.
Bottom line, if Miller stands on his head...we win, if he doesn't we lose.

Unfortunately, I think it'll be tough for us to win this game, but we do have a fighting chance. 30-35% imo.

Being a long time Red Wings fan I have seen what great goalies can do to great teams. So if Miller plays the way he has I think we have a great chance of winning. I do think Canada is going to win 5-3.
I would say if the USA had Chris Chelios we would win for sure. j/k
