  • I know I sound like a broken record but Big Monday has two more very entertaining matchups tonight. The first is Villanova-WVU and the second is Kansas-Texas. Both games should be entertaining and as a Cuse fan I’ll be rooting for the Longhorns tonight to give Syracuse an opening to move up.
  • Speaking of Syracuse, it’ll be a busy week for me. On Tuesday I’m going to the Sabres-Bruins game. As a Bruins fan I was pumped when I got tickets but watching them play the past couple weeks has been brutal. They were able to score 3 goals!!! in last nights win against Montreal, hopefully they can carry over some sort of momentum into tomorrow nights game. Also, I’ll be going to the Syracuse-Uconn game on Wednesday night. I’ve been to a couple Cuse games so far this year and they’re an incredibly entertaining team, I’ll be looking forward to that one.
  • I’ve taken a break from poker lately. I’ve tried to play but there’s been an important decision in my baseball coaching life that has been on my mind and prevented me from playing my A game. I’m planning on jumping back in soon and hope I’m not too rusty.
  • Also, I’m debating on whether or not to purchase p90x. A friend of mine has it and loves it. During my diet I was pretty much just doing cardio and that only takes you so far. I obviously have a lot of free time on my hands and I’m sure it’d be beneficial to me but the important thing is running the program all the way through and I’m not sure if I’d be able to do that. However I’ve heard/read nothing but good things and will probably give it a shot sooner than later.
  • Unfortunately I’m done with the Wire, although I have found myself whistling the farmer in the dell a bit more. My next show that I’m gonna tackle is Arrested Development. A buddy of mine swears by it and after following something as intense as the wire the past couple weeks, a lighthearted half hour comedy will be a nice break.
  • I plan on starting coaching again soon, probably within the next couple weeks. Don’t know what my waitlist looks like and not planning on taking on a bunch of students but excited to get back into it.
  • Finally, going to purchase a macbook pro in the next couple of weeks. I feel like mac owners are a cult. They all give nothing but positive reviews and basically cringe when they have to use a PC. However from what I’ve heard the quality of the machines are amazing so I really can’t go wrong.

1) You're a baseball coach? Will you be my friend?

2) re: p90x/crossfit/whatever, I can't say about the products specifically, and I realize it's a pain to get outside or to the gym, but really a consistent, long term plan for working out in those contexts in conjunction with a reasonable diet is absolutely the way to go. One of those machines has to be better than nothing, though!

3) You will be a better person after having completed both the Wire and Arrested Development. You will quite literally increase your worth on this planet in having done so. A pre-emptive congratulations to you.

4) re: Macs, absolutely amazing machines, great hardware and mac has totally gone legit quality-wise the last couple of years. HOWEVER, you can definitely get a comparable machine with equal or greater specs for significantly less of a cost, if price is a major factor for you (and if monitor size is, also).

5) I like the bullet point format of your blog. I might steal that. Hope it's not copyrighted or anything.

I'm pretty biased, but for me it comes down to this: p90x is fine, but crossfit is GREAT. More variety + shorter workouts + much better weightlifting work + camaraderie with fellow crossfitters + close to personal training = win. Especially since the biggest drawback of crossfit imo ($$$) shouldn't be a big hurdle for you, I think it's a no-brainer if you're ok with the intensity.
