Often it has to hit you that something's wrong, or you have to be told, before something gets done. I was meeting all my deadlines and work and for coaching, producing good content and fine I was a bit knackered but surely that's par for the course with extra workload right??? Like it or not I'm currently wired to believe if I have the opportunity to do something I should, I am the world's worst relaxer....although a very good sleeper. When I'm on the bus, at the train station etc, I don't have that opportunity. Sure I can surf the net but it's not like Camtasia, Combonator, Excel or anything else is on their...ok maybe Rush Poker Mobile but that's IT. In a way the environment didn't help. Similar to if you have a TV in the bedroom you sleep differently than if you don't, I was associating my study room/man cave with poker/work/etc so when I was home I was working/preparing etc. Bad when that happens. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong in being cynical to a degree, it simply, in my opinion, means you're not blindly optimistic about something when all the evidence points in the other direction, (i.e. Our problems will not be 100% solved because we vote in a new government) However the danger comes when it goes too far and you can't see the good in things for the bad you predict. Being objective is a hard thing, especially when you don't have all the facts available to you. I think there's a lot of really bad aggression in Full Tilt's games but sadly this leads to really big swings which is something to get used to. Also there's a huge amount of WTF factor. People just playing hands in ways that make absolutely no sense and yet somehow they have it. Like a guy in a hand where I had AK he had JJ and another guy had TT. He managed not to put any raise at all in until the turn on a KJ3 board T turn. Sadly his "don't raise until it's possible I'm beat" got paid off by TT. I got away and I still don't know how :). If you run bad on FT you're going to drop 100BB without even realising it. On the plus side you're gonna go on the upswing of a lifetime when you actually run good. I think get his confidence up he could be an unknown weapon. (IGN said so twice) It basically comes in 2 parts, Geoscape when you base manage/research etc and tactical where you fight the invading aliens. One of the redeeming features is that you can edit the names of the soldiers under your command and given how brutal the game can be at times it made me "care" more about them than the standard lemmings you sometimes get in RTS's. Plus it's Turn-based which makes it better imo, this type of game just doesn't work in Real Time as Real time lacks immersion hugely due to the "Pause and Cheat" feature in most of them whereas Turned based leads to you being much more careful. The re-naming feature and general incompetence of your beginning grunts also makes the game great for playthroughs since it never plays the same twice and doesn't resort to a gimmick to do that, just randomish maps, a storyline which advances based on what you do rather than a time-stamped progression and not a lot of interference from the PC, you just have to put up with the consequences if you screw up. @Ribbo: actually this only took about 2 hours includign the playthrough...I spent most of last week playing Homeworld and working :( @Lysistrata: LOL don't believe everything you see on Tableratings :). I'm actually re-doing a little and not letting the car rev beyond 3000 revs which is pretty low, i.e. no fast starts, speed limited, and using MEGA high gearing and I still can't get over 38 so I'm pretty much considering 38 the maximum it will do unless you're clinically soulless and hate all other human beings in which case you maaaaaay get 39. If we do a little card swapping and turn the 9s into 9c and the Jc into Js and give our opponent something like As8s I like it a bit more due to the fact you've got a truckload of outs if you're behind, could have the best hand, some nasty cards will come on the river which will make you not VB and hey it's always fun raising but here it's pretty obvious I'm not folding given my line so he's just putting more money with what, a lot of the time, is the worst hand. But there's a fine line with that raise, there are very few situations I'll use it... 1) Easy Raise Fold, like low PP on a drawn up board vs a guy who won't B3B semmi-bluff the turn. 2) Humongous amount of outs if behind (14+ usually), maybe the best hand, some fold equity, bad cards can come which will make me fold river sometimes incorrectly. So a hand like Ah5h on T52J board with 2 hearts. These A-high showdown raises with no fold equity can be ok if you opponent NEVER donks improvement or as a bluff on the river. If he does then you're just putting inmore money and tbh if i see someone using it I'll either start B3B semi-bluffing big draws or donking any river improvement/good bluff cards. So I've used a "Move up at 375BB for next level and move down when you have 200BB at current level" strategy. Given the rake on Stars at 2/4 is the lowest rake anywhere before 5/T I may change that but there's nothing stopping me taking a look at the 3/6 games if I have say a $2400 roll. Tbh what I'll probbaly do with a $2500 roll is just play whichever game looks the best between 1/2 and 3/6. Add onion & saute, stirring occasionally, until very soft, ~10 min. Transfer to large bowl & let cool. Add everything but lemon wedges to onions. Combine ingredients with hands (only way to make sure ingredients are distributed evenly). Fry small pinch of mixture, taste & adjust salt & pepper. Form into balls ~walnut-sized, rolling slightly in palms of hands. Place on a lightly oiled backing sheet with shallow rim. Preheat broiler or grill. Place meatballs ~4 inches from heat source, turning once with tongs until brown & crispy on both sides, ~10 minutes total. Remove baking sheet from broiler & transfer to a platter. Squeeze lemon juice over meatballs & arrange remaining lemon wedges & mint sprigs on platter. Serve immediately. *If doubling recipe, only use 1.5 tsp. of salt instead of doubling.
