Seasoning Micro Steaks

It is December 18, 2009 and I am just starting to get ready for work. As I look back on the year that was, I am super disappointed. I had a lot of potential to make a lot of money, but I let life and my emotions get the best of me. Early on in the year I thought I was taking the game seriously, but all I did was play. I never thought about ranges and I never studied off the table. I made bad plays and never knew it and losing tilted the hell out of me.

I moved from NJ to FL for a job change that epically failed. My expenses are slightly higher, but I am making 1/2 as much money. I now feel like it is really time to start achieving the goal I set out for poker when I first started to take the game seriously. That is make a little bit of money each month to either help me out with bills or buy baller shit. I have no desire to play the game for a living, I also have no desire to be the best player in the world. I just wanna be a small-mid stakes grinder.

I play 50NL I am just about rolled for a permanent 100NL shot, but I think the plan is to play anywhere from 25NL-100NL and just play in the best games I can find for the first few months and try and make the permanent grind at 50 and 100, maybe some 200NL towards the end of the year. Most of the year I played about and hour a day, that is way too little. I start to lose focus at about and hour, but if I frequently take breaks, I think I can play at least 3 per day. I will obviously start off slow, but I do want to be spending more time on the tables.

As far as studying goes, I watch about a video a day now. I look over my previous sessions from the night before, but I don’t really stove anything and think about what is the most profitable play. I also don’t post enough on the forum. Expect to see a ton of posts in the near future. I also plan on continuing my coaching with Threads13 when the BR allows it. I don’t know what the Mount Robusto thing in the Research and Development forum consists of, but I hope that helps me out a bit too as I am taking part in it.

What is funny, these are almost the same goals as I had last December, so this year was a bit of a wash. I don’t think 2010 will be, I am super dedicated and I refuse to fail anymore.
