Live until 9:30Am

Went to this underground game the other night and was there till 9:30AM. Game kicked off at 10 and I took a 4 hour nap sometime between when I got there and left.

How could I describe my play? I felt like I was playing really nitty while everyone elses chips stacks were fluctuating up and down. The game runner, who gave me a ride there and back, described it as patient.

I wanted to so badly to get in there and splash around with these fish. Arguments could be made to do so but remember, I'm batman and they're joker. Batmans only "super power" was his intense self discipline. joker did evertything possible to lure him out of this.

So, I grinded, hard until I got tired and quit. I think I quit well, as Tommy Angelo would say, and only made $40.

Thats ok though because I can re-invest that same stack again. There were a few spots I felt I could've been more aggro in.

For Example, I'm in 2nd position with AQs and open to 5X which is standard but also makes sense because they call so loosely. 6-7X isn't out of the question either in EP. I get 3 callers, HJ, Button and SB

Flop comes 85x two tone. I have the nut flush draw and two overs. SB was loose passive, willing to call any draw at any second for any bet. She would also C/C bottom pairs, weak top pairs and Middle pair. HJ was tight but loose passive pre and tight post flop. He lost patience a few times but didn't get too out of line. Button made weird plays. I think his bet sizing indicated his hand strength but can't be a 100% sure.

Anyways, I had about 200bb's eff. The other 3 had me covered. SB checked, I contemplated a bet but didn';t want to get blown off my hand, HJ checked and button fired $25. SB didn't think long and called.

I think this was a great spot for a C/R. SB should be super weak hear but I should have enough FE to make the play. I think $125 would've been a good size. They would have decided then and there whether or not to commit their stacks therefore I'd get full value for my flush draw and overcards. you could argue that I blow weaker flush draws out of the pot but not so in 1/2 live poker. People constantly go with "their gut" and I would be able to shove lots of turns as well and get them to fold or even come along with dominated draws.

I pussed out and called $25. The turn went Check, Check, Check, I missed and button fired and took down the pot with a super small bet.

This is also a great example of a spot of NOT pulling the trigger yet until you have MORE information on how the game plays. Remember, I'm just jumping back into live and still need to get my feel back. I'm also developing my table image in this particular game but it isn't there just yet. It would be a much better move after I have logged many more hours in the game and developed a solid image.

Something I call bottom end game, or the defensive part of your game. That is the part of my game that needed the most work and I am very proud of how far it has come to this point.

Anyways, more talk about life later. I am planning a small show at a small venue here in Denver. I have all the acts booked, the venue booked and the price. I am working on the design right now. Maybe I will upload an image of it when I get that done. I won't be officially designing it but will have some say in how it will work. Girl talk as well. Met this new one downtown but got to wasted later that evening and put off a bad impression.
