Youse guys might think it is fun to work at the WalMart distribution center, but lemme tell u, they have this weird idea that it can all be done by machines that are running what they call soffware or someding like that. Yuk. The other day the machine puts a pitcher of a desk on a box with like a bike carrier in it. Then another machine scans the pitcher, u know. And prints the address label. I doan know, I get in trouble if I stop the line.

"Dear Alex,
Thank you for giving us the information on returning the Pokerstars.com bike rack.

So how was your bagel? Also I did some research and the dinner special that day at Art of Pizza was the calzone with a side salad.

I have provided you with some information on healthy eating. An aspiring poker pro should really look into how their diet can effect their ability to play poker at an optimal level.

Hey corkeye,

Yep! I mean I'd 3 bet sometimes, but folding is a perfectly fine default IMO, and I'd call very very rarely (unless we had a small blind flat from a bad player or something else specific going on).

It was a push between two guys already moving at decent speeds and making contact. His intention certainly wasn't to drive him head first into the boards (his push from behind is only a slight issue).

I am actually surprised that there wasn't more of an uproar. It was a pretty dirty play and in situations like that you have to let up, He basically just pushed him from behind directly into the boards where he could have been paralyzed... I thought it was worse than Lapierre's hit on Nicol. Nicol looked like he just lost his footing and wasn't pushed that hard.

As for poker content, stay strong man, tomorrow is a fresh start. :)

After looking at this hand again and seeing your explanations it does seem like a great fold. I'm not sure how to interpret this opponents overbet at your stakes, but I suppose it surely looks like a flush hit or he hit a set and the KK's gave him the boat. And at the end of the day it is a marginal situation, so +1 to you!

Also, this might be obvious by now but what that meant for my thinking was that the flush card moreso removed a lot of the bluffs/thinner value bets from his range as much (or moreso) as it was a threat to a better made hand being possible.

Well, I felt that there shouldn't be many (any?) non-nut flush combinations in his range. I'd expect him to fold those on a 2nd barrel in this spot tbh (maybe with some small chance of a semi bluff raise somewhere pre-riv). So, while I think something like the nut flush is possible, because I think most of the XsXs combinations are gone by the time he calls turn it seemed more likely that he had 7s full or possibly peeled one off and turned a boat. I just think it's the only hand he's never folding pre riv and always taking this river line with. So, a couple of flushes seem possible, and I guess AK is also possible, especially if he had the As, but some % of the time I think AK either makes a small river bet, takes longer to shove than he did, or possibly even checks it back.

I also didn't include that he took this line with a flopped set earlier where he just called flop checked it back on the turn (meaning he most certainly would've flatted vs raised a turn barrel 100% of the time there had villain bet, as he did in this hand), and bet river when checked to, but it was earlier so PSR's were way different.

Definitely agree, Niklius. Though I also think the implementation of the synchronized 5 minute breaks at :55 every hour really helps a ton (at least on stars/FTP), and literally pushes former-6-8 hour sessions into 10-12 hour sessions in itself for me personally.

Recently I've been putting in roughly 40 hour weeks. Long weeks are 70-75 hours.

I would imagine the inability to get up and walkaway from playing MTT's makes the R&R portion of our poker strategy a lot more important. When I need rest from playing 6-max ring game, I just get up and rest. Of course that's different when it's really juicy.

How many hours are you working a week?

Great post

Having been playing SNG's for a while, and have recently gone through (or still going thru depending on your definition) a downswing. I'm finding myself becoming 'bored' of the bad beats, the coin flips, the suckouts (when I win or if I lose) and overall robotic nature of 1 table SNG's.

So over the past couple of days, after reading your blog and watching the latest vid, I decided to 'mix it up' - playing large field MTT's, 18/27/45 sngs, along with the usual 9/10m SNG's.... and now I feel motivated, eager and refreshed.

Whilst results don't always count, I've started to get my confidence back (it helped coming 23rd in a MTT with 2,200 starters), I've started to become more focussed / re-focussed, and I'm actually enjoying /looking foward to grinding SNG's.

thanks again, and keep up the blog

I assume the +$ comes from filing in the dead time that it takes to load some of the mtsngs and that the mix that you have would be very fluid. Example if you wanted to play $75 45mtsngs on FTP they load about 5/hr and take two hours to play. So your plan to play a 5 hour stretch would be start up your 45s and 9 mans and as you add to your 45s stop adding to the 9 mans. And so in the middle of the 5 hours you might only be playing 45s. Then as you get to the end and stop adding to the 45s you would start adding to the 9s again. So the goal would be to maximise the hourly average buyins. Right?
