Travels Day 1
So I finally got to Dublin. I left yesterday from my apartment at 2pm west coast time and I finally arrived at my Hostel 23 hours later. Actually wasn’t as bad as you would expect. I will get to that later though. DISCLAIMER this is going to be super boring as its just going to be me ranting about my travel expierences.
Left my apartment with my roommate Jamie. I found out assuming I do not cut this trip crazy short that I won’t be able to play the bay 101 WPT tourney. Depending on how I am running I might not anyways but I would like to keep the option open because that tourneys going to be sick good. But I hope jamie sats into it so I can buy a piece because I would love to have a sweat (as always). But I arrived at the airport and only funny thing that happened was I got stuck behind these three people at ticketing, then in customs, then I got sat next to them on the plane as well. I flew Virgin Atlantic which I will recommend to everyone. I heard they have wifi but since all my luggage besides headphone and book were in my backpack I couldn’t try it out. But what was great about the flight was I got a seat next to me opened and that one next to it was open as well but the lady 3 seats over pretty much took it. 2 seats is better than none.
The only thing on the first plane that happen was I watched the movie paranormal activity I think its called. Pretty good to say the least. Kind of a blair witch kind of feel. But the end was pretty freaking which is saying alot for me who hasn’t really been truly scared from a movie since poltergeist when I was 8. But def check it out.
I flew into London Heathrow with no problems but my layover was 8 hours which sucked alot.
I wasted alot of time trying to find where the hell my next plane was because all I knew was the flight number and had no idea of even the airline. Turned out to be BMI i believe.
While I was at the airport just trying to waste time I sat down to get some food. Now I have been trying to be reading as much as possible on the ettiquette of just natural stuff around Europe but it seems to be different everywhere you go. One bar I paid at the bar and had to remember my table number. Got a burger and chips(I am getting the lingo) pretty good. Before I came here my dad mentioned that his parents spent a decent amount of time in London and they absolutely loved the warm beer. Its hard to tell which one are and which ones aren’t but I got some and it was decent. I am not to picky with my beer but it was heavy for my first meal of the morning. Had a stella to wash it down later which is always a safe choice. I plan on getting wasted as much as possible this trip. Hopefully chatting it up with the locals in the pubs but I thought it best to stay with two since I had another flight.
The airport was better as they have like a waiting area which shops and food and lots of seats and when its getting closer to your flight(<1 hour) you can start to make the trek to your flight. The flight was nothing special. I picked up Shutter Island the book at London and am ripping through that pretty well and its very good.
But here I am now at Four Courts Hostel in Dublin. Just got here a bunch of people mincing around my age with a couple of 45 year old males in the bunch too. I don’t judge though got to save that money. Jaybeastie is coming tomorrow though and I am super pumped. IF you don’t know him hes a super cool kid from Germany and were gonna paint the town red with a couple of his friends.
I know this was boring but I wanted to get a blog a day kind of thing going so hang with me I sure much more will come. Until next time Cheers.
