Osama Bin laden, Obama and Books

BBC the Life of Osama Bin Laden

So he is dead.. now what?

I think that this is a great thing that they announced it though, I think that they will start to scale back the defence spending and get the economy back on track.. I was sure he was dead for years and just used as a political tool, the way those tapes 'OSB' came out in the 04 election with Bush's retoric was pretty convenient. In 2003, former SoS Madeleine Albright told Fox presenter Morton Kondracke she suspected Bush knew the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden and was waiting for the most politically expedient moment to announce his capture.. it was his Ace-In-The-Hole, but he didnt need it, just the videos.

Benazir Bhutto, who was killed in a suicide attack at the end of 2007, stated that Osama bin Laden had been killed already. Anyway, now they've announced it, and the publicly acceptable reality is now they "have the mastermind" im pretty sure it wont be long before they can justify scaling back the wars.

They have the oil in iraq and most of the minerals in afghanistan, as well as control of the poppy fields, so its game over as far as what they wanted to achieve, now they can cut the spending and resore public confidence in the economy.

In any case, this is a big win for obama and the dems, especially with the release of this birth cert last week - its a slam dunk for obama. Two of the biggest weak points in his campaign were always questions of whether he was 'strong enough' for the war on terror, and whether he was even eligable for president in the first place - within one week hes crushed those two things.

So i think its gonna be a clear path to winville for obama in 12, especially since most incumbants get re-elected. In politics most things are not co-incidences. The timing of this is perfect for obama and now hes gonna win because theres not going to be any strong candidates.

Obama has def got street cred with the average person so thats a big win, he can dance, joke, plays bball, plus hes really articulate when reading that Teleprompter. Hell, he might even legalize online poker too.

Books... Wow I have been so lazy about reading lately. I have started but still yet to finish Illuminatus! by Robert Anton Wilson, about 300 into the over 800 mindfucking pages of tilt-a-whirls and LSD-esque writing of the great man. I have also got more than 2/3rds of the way through Sam Chauhans 'Minds Power Unleashed' but yet to finish that too. My goal is to have these two books finished by the end of the month, and to get started on Poker Math that Matters by Owen Gaines and Heads Up NL by Collin Moshman. The idea is to get my mindset right first with the Chauhan book, brush up on my Poker Math (im actually OK at this but needs some more theory) and then learn to play HU and transition into playing more bums. HU has the highest WinRates and its a travesty that I havent really set about getting my ass into gear and learning this game, plus it will help my 6max game too.
